Seahorses have a unique appearance, much like a tiny underwater dragon, has associated them with the realm of magic and fantasy, and it is though a sign of good luck to see one as they’re so well camouflaged, and a sign of prosperity to come. 
The seahorse often interpreted as a spiritual reminder to remain grounded and steady, even when the world around us feels like a turbulent ocean. Ancient European and Philippine lore viewed seahorses as protectors of sailors, guiding them safely through rough waters and warding off evil spirits. The suit of hearts also represents water out of the four elements, which makes it the perfect suit for the seahorse to be painted on.
